The San Jose State Spartans go on the road to face the Fresno State Bulldogs in Mountain West action.
The San Jose State Spartans have a shot at a postseason berth if they can suddenly turn it on and sweep their schedule beginning with Fresno State on Saturday. If the Spartans are going to turn things around they will need to tighten things up defensively after dropping a 38-31 decision to visiting Colorado State. The Spartans might have outplayed CSU in some areas with a 493-403 edge in yardage but losing the turnover battle by a 3-2 count. Joe Gray gave the SJSU passing attack plenty of bite with 308 yards with a pair of touchdowns although two interceptions took away some of the luster. Tyler Ervin also supplied some punch to the Spartans ground game with 149 yards on 18 carries including an 89 yard touchdown gallop.

The Fresno State Bulldogs were enjoying a three game winning streak a few short weeks ago but followed that up with a three game slide with San Jose State on deck Saturday. The Bulldogs were supposed to get back in the win column in week ten as a 15 point favorite versus visiting Wyoming. A 24-7 4th quarter scoring burst by the Cowboys broke open a competitive game but Wyoming's 694-316 advantage in real estate says what happened here. While the visitors were able to run and throw as they pleased the Bulldogs struggled through the air and that was decisive late with points needed in a hurry. Brian Burrell and Zach Greenlee combined for a 14-29 effort for 149 yards with Burrell throwing a TD and a pair of interceptions. Marteze Waller gave Fresno 116 rushing yards with an eight yard scoring run but the air attack needed more production.
The over is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while the Spartans are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game and 9-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. For Fresno State the over is 5-0 in Bulldogs last 5 games following a S.U. loss and is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game while the over has gone 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games following a ATS loss. Head to head the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Fresno State while the Spartans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Fresno State and the home team is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings. This looks like a coin flip with neither team having a great advantage but I feel San Jose State is a bit better...
