The Line: Indiana Hoosiers +5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Penn State Nittany Lions and Indiana Hoosiers will play a Big Ten matchup Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Penn State Nittany Lions have lost four straight games and continue to struggle mightily on the offensive side. Penn State is being carried by its defense that’s allowing 17.8 points, 273.4 yards, and has forced 13 turnovers and 25 sacks. Penn State has allowed 24 or less points in 11 of its last 12 games. Mike Hull leads Penn State with 92 tackles and Anthony Zettel has nine tackles for loss. Offensively, Christian Hackenberg is completing 57.5 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In his last three games, Hackenberg has three touchdowns and four picks. Penn State has just 14 passing plays of 25 or more yards and three receivers with more than 20 receptions. DaeSean Hamilton and Geno Lewis have combined for more than 1,300 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Jesse James caught his first touchdown last week since the Nittany Lions second game. Penn State’s ground game is averaging just 2.3 yards per carry and Bill Belton leads the way with 280 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Indiana vs. Penn State - 11/8/14 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Indiana Hoosiers have lost three straight games and are really having a hard time without quarterback Nate Sudfeld. Freshman Zander Diamont is completing just 43.5 percent of his passes for zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Indiana has just 35 passing yards in its last two games and has 10 passing plays of 25 or more yards overall. Shane Wynn leads Indiana with 436 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Hoosiers offense lives and dies with a running game that’s averaging six yards per carry. Tevin Coleman and D'Angelo Roberts have combined for more than 1,700 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Indiana has won five of its last nine games when rushing for 200-plus yards. Defensively, the Indiana Hoosiers are allowing 34.8 points, 446 yards, and they’ve forced seven turnovers and 15 sacks. Antonio Allen leads Indiana with 46 tackles and Bobby Richardson has 5.5 tackles for loss.

The Nittany Lions are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 7-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Hoosiers are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nittany Lions are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Indiana and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings overall.

Both of these teams have been horrible lately, especially Penn State given its talent level. Penn State struggles to move the chains let alone score touchdowns. However, Penn State does have one of the better defenses in the Big Ten and should be able to put points on the board against a Hoosiers defense that is beyond terrible. Give me Penn State by a touchdown.
