The Indiana Hoosiers have lost three straight games and are really having a hard time without quarterback Nate Sudfeld. Freshman Zander Diamont is completing just 43.5 percent of his passes for zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Indiana has just 35 passing yards in its last two games and has 10 passing plays of 25 or more yards overall. Shane Wynn leads Indiana with 436 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Hoosiers offense lives and dies with a running game that’s averaging six yards per carry. Tevin Coleman and D'Angelo Roberts have combined for more than 1,700 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Indiana has won five of its last nine games when rushing for 200-plus yards. Defensively, the Indiana Hoosiers are allowing 34.8 points, 446 yards, and they’ve forced seven turnovers and 15 sacks. Antonio Allen leads Indiana with 46 tackles and Bobby Richardson has 5.5 tackles for loss.
The Nittany Lions are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 7-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Hoosiers are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nittany Lions are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Indiana and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings overall.
Both of these teams have been horrible lately, especially Penn State given its talent level. Penn State struggles to move the chains let alone score touchdowns. However, Penn State does have one of the better defenses in the Big Ten and should be able to put points on the board against a Hoosiers defense that is beyond terrible. Give me Penn State by a touchdown.
