The Toledo Rockets and Northern Illinois Huskies square off Tuesday night at Huskie Stadium.
The Toledo Rockets have won five of their last six games and control their own destiny in the MAC West. Starting quarterback Logan Woodside remains questionable for this game, which could make freshman Michael Julian the starter. Julian has thrown only 10 passes all season, while Woodside has completed 61.6 percent of his passes for 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. Toledo has 25 passing plays of 25 or more yards and have won seven of its last 10 games when passing for 200-plus yards. Corey Jones and Alonzo Russell have combined for more than 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Dwight Macon has seven of his 15 receptions in his last two games. Toledo’s ground game is averaging 5.9 yards per carry, and Kareem Hunt and Terry Swanson have produced more than 1,500 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Hunt is probable despite dealing with an ankle injury. Defensively, the Toledo Rockets are allowing 32.1 points, 437 yards, and they’ve forced 10 turnovers and 19 sacks. Junior Sylvestre leads Toledo with 70 tackles and Trent Voss has 10 tackles for loss.

The Northern Illinois Huskies have won three straight and can also win the MAC West if they win out. Northern Illinois lives and dies with its running game that’s averaging 5.1 yards per carry and has produced 22 running plays of 20 or more yards. Cameron Stingily, Drew Hare and Joel Bouagnon have all topped 400 rushing yards and have combined for 18 rushing touchdowns. Northern Illinois has won six straight games when rushing for at least two touchdowns. Hare is completing 60.5 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and one interception. Hare has one total touchdown and zero picks in his last two games. Da'Ron Brown and Juwan Brescacin have combined for more than 1,000 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, while Aregeros Turner has five of his 17 receptions in his last two games. Defensively, the Northern Illinois Huskies are allowing 25.7 points, 392 yards, and they’ve forced 12 turnovers and 18 sacks. Marlon Moore leads Northern Illinois with 67 tackles and Jason Meehan has 8.5 tackles for loss.
The Rockets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Huskies are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games in November and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Rockets are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings in Northern Illinois.
I'm banking on Logan Woodside playing in this game and I'm going to back the Rockets and the points. Toledo is the much more balanced team offensively and is capable of putting up a truckload of points once they get rolling. Defense isn't going to be a big factor in this game, so getting free points seems to be the way to go.
