The Line: South Alabama Jaguars -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Texas State Bobcats battle the South Alabama Jaguars at Ladd-Peebles Stadium with both teams battling for a Bowl.
The Texas State Bobcats had an opportunity to solidify their grip on a postseason berth but a 28-25 loss to visiting Georgia Southern put a damper on their hopes. The Bobcats trailed 28-10 and their late rally fell short despite a hefty 439-268 advantage in yardage and a 26-9 edge in first downs. Sounds as if the wrong team won with a 100 yard pick six representing a 14 point swing and giving the Eagles a 28-10 lead. The Bobcats tried to establish a viable rushing attack but they averaged around 3 1/2 yards per touch which wasn't good enough. However Tyler Jones did move the chains with 324 passing yards with six yard and 32 yard touchdown throws to Lawrence White and Ryan Carden respectively with his two picks being obvious killers in a winnable contest.

The South Alabama Jaguars appeared to be a shue in a few short weeks ago as they were sky high riding a four game winning streak. However back to back defeats where the offense has been virtually invisible has the team's future in jeopardy. The Jaguars are coming off their poorest effort of the season in a 45-10 rout at Arkansas State in week eleven. USA was never in this with the Red Wolves totaling 400 yards with equal ability to run and throw while playing mistake free ball. On the flip side South Alabama barely cracked 200 yards and turned the ball over four times so they were dead meat when their deficit reached 24-3 after 30 minutes the game was out of reach. The rushing game was little more then three yards per carry with Matt Floyd going 8-20 for 86 yards with a pair of interceptions including a pick six.
The Bobcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while the over is 7-1 in Bobcats last 8 road games. For South Alabama the under is 4-0 in Jaguars last 4 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and is 4-0-1 in Jaguars last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while the Jaguars are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Jaguars have injury worries at quarterback and that is a huge worry for a team that needs points. I'm taking the points for now but check back Friday...
