The Kent State Golden Flashes shoot for their second win when they visit the Buffalo Bulls on Wednesday.
The Kent State Golden Flashes have been competitive at times but not enough to get in the win column. That has been the case in three consecutive defeats capped off by a 30-20 defeat at MAC challenger Bowling Green as a 13 point underdog. The Golden Flashes are not built for playing from behind and they were in trouble with the Falcons leading 20-7 at the half. BGSU had a solid advantage in the yardage department 527-328 with a whopping 5-2 turnover edge. The Falcons could run and throw but Kent State could only throw with just 22 rushing yards. Unfotunately Colin Reardon threw for some nice gains but he was mistake prone. Reardon connected on 24-37 for 284 yards with three touchdowns but four interceptions were drive killers.

The Buffalo Bulls 4-6 record certainly isn't very good but given the amount of lost talent from a season ago I'd be willing to say not many people expected anything more. The Bulls looked like the 2013 version in week 12 as they waffled visiting Akron 55-24 in a game that was 27-10 heading in to the locker room and never competitive. The Zips were held to 229 yards and gave the ball away twice while the Bulls amassed 536 yards with 29 first downs and 36 minutes of possession. Joe Licata was deadly efficient through the air with a 16-21 effort for 193 yards and four touchdowns with a pick six. Buffalp really dominated the ground game behinnd the duo of Jordan Johnson and Anthone Taylor combining for 282 yards on 49 touches with each visiting the endzone.
The under is 3-0-1 in Golden Flashes last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game and is 5-0-1 in Golden Flashes last 6 conference games while the Golden Flashes are 1-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. For Buffalo the Bulls are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and the over is 5-1 in Bulls last 6 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game while the Bulls are 9-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. Head to head the road team is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings while the underdog is 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the Golden Flashes are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Buffalo. Kent State has been tough lately and laying a score with the Bulls is nauseating but that's what I'm doing now...
