Few teams have been on as big a roll as Colorado State who face the Air Force Falcons looking so win number eleven. The Rams improved to 10-1 with a 58-20 victory over visiting New Mexico for their 9th straight win. This was a 37-7 game heading to the locker room as CSU amassed nearly 700 yards while the Lobos couldn't keep up with their 356 yards. The Air Force Falcons are enjoying their best season in recent memory and it would be even better with a win over mighty Colorado State in the season finale'. If the Falcons are to knock off the Rams they will have to bounce back from 30-14 road loss to San Diego State. The Falcons could not stop the Aztecs who totaled over 500 yards and with just 329 yards to lean on their four turnovers were absolute killers. Quarterback Kale Pearson was the leaning runner with 59 yards on 14 carries while connecting on 10-22 for 171 yards including a 74 touchdown strike to Garrett Griffin with a 56 yard pick six. The bottom line for the Falcons is they have thrown the ball reasonably well this season but still need to be able to run effectively.
The Air Force has thrown the ball surprisingly well this season but make no mistake about it, the Falcons are a running team and won't win by puttting the ball in the air. Colorado State has been the best team in the Mountain West and can win games with their ability to run, throw or defend. The real problem for opponents is they can beat the Rams in any one of these areas and still end up with a loss and I think that will be the issue Air Forces faces...
