Massachusetts vs. Buffalo - 11/28/14 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Massachusetts Minutemen have split their last four games and hope to end things on a high note. UMass lives and dies with its passing game but Blake Frohnapfel is doubtful with an ankle injury. Freshman Austin Whipple will get the nod, and he completed 60 percent of his passes for one touchdown and three picks last week. Tajae Sharpe and Jean Sifrin have combined for more than 1,800 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while Marken Michel has seven catches in his last two games. Massachusetts is averaging 3.3 yards per carry, as Shadrach Abrokwah leads the way with 473 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, the Massachusetts Minutemen are allowing 32.3 points, 428.4 yards, and they’ve forced 14 sacks and 17 turnovers. Jovan Santos-Knox leads UMass with 129 tackles and Daniel Maynes has 7.5 tackles for loss.

The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 9-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Minutemen are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

UMass is likely playing a freshman QB and Buffalo is well rested after not playing last week. The Buffalo Bulls should win this game with ease.
