The Wyoming Cowboys look to end the season on a positive note with a road win over the New Mexico Aggies.
The Wyoming Cowboys look for an offensive spark when they take on New Mexico in their last game of 2014. The Cowboys have scored a grand total of of 17 points in consecutive defeats. The Cowboys were overmatched in a 63-14 loss to visiting Boise State in week 13 as the Broncos jumped to a 28-7 lead after 30 minutes and never were challenged. The Broncos moved the ball at will with 558 yards with plenty of ability to run and throw. Wyoming mustered just 227 yards and gave the ball away three times with nothing going well. Brian Hill rushed 21 times for 65 yards and both touchdowns which was the highlight of the offense. Three quarterbacks tried their hand at throwing the ball with a combined 147 yards which obviously didn't make a difference.

The New Mexico Lobos are ranked #5 in the country in rushing offense but the problem is they struggle defensively and still run when they trail by any amount of points. That trend continued in 58-20 loss at Colorado State where the Rams led 37-7 at the half. CSU amassed nearly 700 yards in whatever way they pleased while the Lobos totaled 356 yards with 300 yards coming on the ground. True to form Lamar Jordan connected on 3-11 for 55 yards and a pair of intercepions while adding 74 yards and a TD on the ground. Jhurell Pressley led the running game with 109 yards with Teriyon Gipson contributing another 86 yards but the refusal to throw is an area New Mexico needs to address in 2015 unless they play with the lead.
The over is 6-0 in Cowboys last 6 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points and is 5-0 in Cowboys last 5 games following a S.U. loss while the Cowboys are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. For New Mexico the under is 4-0 in Lobos last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and is 4-0 in Lobos last 4 vs. a team with a losing record while the Lobos are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. Head to head the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Mexico and is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings while the road team is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings. Look at the numbers and give me one reason to back either team and then take the points and pray...
