The Marshall Thundering were give a better then even chance of going undefeated in 2014 and there was even talk of making the playoffs for the National Championship. Things were going just as planned with eleven straight victories before a 67-66, overtime defeat to visiting Western Kentucky when the Hilltoppers converted a two point conversion in the extra session. Both teams combined for 1,446 yards with plenty of passing and solid rushing attacks. Brandon Doughty threw for nearly 500 yards and eight TD's with Rakeem Cato completing 29-46 for 417 yardsa with seven scores and four interceptions with Davonte Allen and Tommy Shuler accounting for 273 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Steward Butler was the face of the ground game with 233 yards on 24 carries and a pair of scores.
The over is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 vs. a team with a winning record while the Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record with the over going 4-0-1 in Bulldogs last 5 games on fieldturf. For Marshall the Thundering Herd are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game while the Thundering Herd are 11-1-1 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. I'm not sure either team can keep the other off the scoreboard so I'm thinking La Tech and a few TD's is too much to give up...
