The Miami Hurricanes finished the season at 6-6 losing their last three games. The Miami offense is averaging 29.9 points and 431 yards per game led by QB Brad Kaaya who completed 58.6 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Duke Johnson was one of the best running backs in the nation with 1,520 yards and 10 touchdowns and Clive Walford had 44 catches and seven touchdowns to lead the Hurricanes. The Miami defense allowed 24.3 points and 327.6 yards per game with 23 takeaways and 25 sacks. Denzel Perryman has 102 tackles, Jermaine Grace had 57 tackles, and Thurston Armbrister has 53 tackles including 5 sacks. Miami is loaded with talent but lacks the coaching to produce wins.

The South Carolina Gamecocks finished the season at a disappointing 6-6 ending the year with a loss to rival Clemson. The South Carolina offense averages 33.3 points and 450.8 yards per game and are led by QB Dylan Thompson who has completed 59.5 percent of their passes with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Mike Davis leads the Gamecocks in rushing with 927 yards and nine touchdowns and Pharoh Cooper has 60 catches and eight touchdowns. The South Carolina defense allows 31.2 points and 433.6 yards per game with 17 takeaways and 12 sacks. Skai Moore has 82 tackles, T.J. Gurley has 80 tackles, and Brison Williams has four interceptions. The expectations were huge for South Carolina this season and they have fallen well short.
Miami is 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six bowl games, and 2-6 against the spread following a loss. South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread against the ACC, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight neutral site games, and 1-4 against the spread following a loss.
