Waldo Stadium and the Western Michigan Broncos host instate rival the Michigan State Spartans.
The Michigan State was 11-2 a year ago and rallied to defeat Baylor in their Bowl. The Spartans were generally dominant on both sides of the ball as they outscored opponents 43-21 and the defense should be great once again if a few holes in the secondary are filled. Offensively quarterback Connor Cook brings back over 3,200 yards and 24 touchdowns back although Troy Lippett takes 1,200 receiving yards to graduation. Aaron Burbage, Monty Madaris and Jack Conklin will be asked to step up and lead the receiving unit. Not only is leading runner Jeremy Langford gone but the guy who is supposed to take over has some off field issues. Delton Williams is a serious threat on the ground if he plays but Madre London and Gerald Holmes will produce with three O-Linemen back.

The Western Michigan Broncos should be one of the more exciting teams to watch in the MAC with one of the better offenses in the game. Quarterback Zach Terrell has his top seven receivers back in Corey Davis and Daniel Braverman who accounted for almost 2,400 yards so Terrell might pass by his 3,400 passing yards of a season ago. The ground game might not have garnered as many headlines as the passing attack but Jarvion Franklin will draw plenty of attention after a monster 308 carry, 1,500 yard 2014 with three starters along the offensive line. If the offense stays healthy the experience on defense should be enough to keep the Broncos in position to do a lot of winning.
The over is 6-0 in Spartans last 6 non-conference games and is 5-0 in Spartans last 5 games on fieldturf while Michigan State are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. The under is 6-1 in Broncos last 7 Friday games and the over is 5-1 in Broncos last 6 non-conference games while Western Michigan are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games on fieldturf. The Spartans shouldn’t have a problem winning with the bigger and faster athletes but the points are where I’m looking at for now…
