The Clemson Tigers look to turn back the rushing attack of the Wofford Terriers in week one.

Mike Ayers looks to lead the experienced Wofford Terriers to the FCS postseason after a 6-5 finish in 2014. The Terriers outscored opponents 27-23 behind their run first wishbone attack that was third in the nation with 297 yards per contest. Of course, the passing game was an afterthought at less then 70 yards. Lorenzo Long paced Wofford on the ground with 837 yards followed by Ray Smith with almost 600 yards. Quarterback Evan Jacks added another 516 yards with Will Gay and Octavius Harden combined for over 500 yards. The Terriers allowed 110 rushing yards and will look to control the clock against the Clemson athletes rather then try to outscore them.

Clemson Tigers vs. Wofford Terriers - 9/5/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The 2014 Clemson Tigers could do it all in 2014 as they owned the scoreboard 31-17 on the way to a 10-3 record including a 40-6 thrashing of Oklahoma in their Bowl. Deshaun Watson threw for 1,466 yards and ran for 255 yards despite missing time with a broken collarbone which he broke in the spring again, a broken hand and banged up knee. With Mike Williams and Artavis Scott bring back 133 receptions and almost 2,000 yards back to the receiving corps the passing game will be dangerous. Wayne Gallman led the Tigers on the ground with 769 yards and if the line finds a groove a complimentary rushing attack will go far with an explosive air game. If the defensive line can rebuild on the fly opposing offenses will not be very successful.

The over is 5-0 in Terriers last 5 road games and is 5-0 in Terriers last 5 games overall while going   5-0 in Terriers last 5 non-conference games. The under is 6-0 in Tigers last 6 home games and   is 7-0 in Tigers last 7 games on grass while Clemson  are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in September. Wofford has no chance here but they do nothing but run and do it effectively. The Clemson D-Line has new faces so I’ll hope the Terriers score a bit and eat clock…
