The Line: Colorado Buffaloes -13 -- Over/Under: 61.5 See the Latest Odds

TV: Pac-12 Network

The Colorado Buffaloes and the Massachusetts Minutemen face off on Saturday in Boulder in college football action.

The Colorado Buffaloes will attempt to get back on their feet and bounce back from a disappointing loss in week one at Hawaii. CU QB Sefo Liufau was ineffective passing the football completing 23 of 40 passes for 156 yards and an interception but he rushed for 103 yards. Michael Adkins averaged 4.1 yards a carry for Colorado for 90 yards and nelson Spruce was the Buffaloes leading receiver with eight catches. Ryan Moeller was Colorado’s leading tackler with six, Akhello Witherspoon had five tackles, and Chidobe Awuzie had four tackles and two assists. Colorado must put last week in the past in a hurry as this game is a must win if they hope to have a successful season of any kind.

Colorado vs. UMass - 9/12/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

This is the opening game of the season for the UMass Minutemen and there is reason for excitement as Head Coach Mark Whipple has created an offense that can move the football and score points. Massachusetts QB Blake Frohnapfel is back after averaging 334.5 yards per game despite missing the last two games with a broken leg. No one emerged in the Minutemen backfield as a go to back but Shadrach Abrokwah will likely be first up and Tajae Sharpe had 85 catches last season is the main target in the UMass passing game. The UMass defense will likely be the deciding factor as to how the season goes for the Minutemen and Jovan Santos –Knox will be counted on in the MLB spot, CB Randall Jette is the best of the secondary, and Robert Kitching should add some beef to a undersized DL. With Colorado vulnerable UMass shouldn’t be lacking confidence here.

Colorado is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 4-1 against the spread after a game that they threw for less than 170 yards, and 1-6 against the spread following a game that they ran for more than 200 yards. Massachusetts is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 non-conference games, and 5-1 against the spread in their last six September games.

I am expecting a ton of scoring so my free pick will be on the over even with the total at 61.5. My stronger play is on the winning team against the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
