USA TODAY Sports

The Bowling Green Falcons improved to 1-1 (0-0 MAC) on the season after an impressive 48-27 victory against the Maryland Terrapins this past Saturday. Bowling Green was down 13-6 at half time but outscored the Terrapins by a 42-14 margin, including 28 points in the 4th quarter to secure the victory. Bowling Green outgained Maryland by a 692-341 margin. Leading the way for Bowling Green was QB Matt Johnson who completed 36 of 55 passes for 491 yards and 6 TD’s. Roger Lewis had a huge day for Bowling Green as the WR finished the game with 15 receptions for 200 yards and 2 TD’s. Fred Coppet (15 carries, 109 yds) and Travis Greene (18 carries, 65 yds, TD) led the Bowling Green rushing attack that finished the game with 201 yards. Bowling Green has to replace seven starters on the defense end going into this season and will look to continue to improve as the season continues as the Falcons are currently allowing 43 yards per game.

The Tigers are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games in September and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Falcons are 5-2-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record however are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Bowling Green is once again putting up huge offensive numbers early in the season and although they looked great in the 2nd half against Marlyand, this is still a team that has some major question marks on the defense end. Memphis won 10 games in 2014 including their bowl game against BYU and should be contending for another AAC Championship in 2015. Memphis defense hasn't been tested yet this season but I can see them giving up some points against the Falcons on the road. I like Memphis to win this one but I feel stronger that this game will be a shootout and I’m going to take the over.
