Cajun Field and the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns host the Akron Zips Saturday.
The Akron Zips broke in to the win column with a 52-9 rout of FCS Savannah State in week three. The Tigers were obviously a better match up then Oklahoma and Pittsburgh even though it took the Zips some time to get going with a 24-0 second half erasing all hopes of a Savannah State upset. The boxscore said this was a mismatch with Akron piling up a 626-202 yardage edge and 31 first downs. Tra’Von Chapman and Thomas Woodson gave the Zips plenty of production in the air with a combined 337 passing yards with each throwing a TD and pick with Jerome Lane grabbing three balls for 99 yards and a score. Connor Hundley gave Akron punch on the ground with 127 yards and a score while Donnell Alexander and Woodson combining for another 191 yards.
