The Oregon Ducks bounced back from their loss at Michigan State by beating Georgia State in a romp at home. The Oregon offense is averaging 50 points and 567.3 yards per game running at their signature quick pace. Jeff Lockie started at QB last week for the Ducksand he was outstanding but it remains to be seen who will be the starter as Vernon Adams continues to nurse his injured finger. Royce Freeman is Oregon’s top rusher with 373 yards and five touchdowns and Bralon Addison is the leading receiver with 13 caches and Charles Nelson has nine. The Oregon defense is allowing 33.7 points and 456.3 yards per game with five sacks, five interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. The Utah Utes are off to a 3-0 start to the season as they look to take a big leap forward in the Pac-12. The Utah offense is averaging 31 points and 348 yards but QB Travis Wilson has been out with a shoulder injury. If Wilson is unable to go for the Utes this week it will be Kendal Thompson who has completed 77.1 percent of his passes with a touchdown and an interception. Utah’s rushing attack is anchored by Devontae Booker who has rushed for 345 yards and four touchdowns as well as catching 14 passes out of the backfield and Britain Covey has 14 receptions. The Utah defense is allowing 18.3 points and 364.3 yards per game with three sacks, five interceptions, and three fumble recoveries. Jared Norris leads the Utes with 28 tackles, Gionni Paul has 27 tackles, and Marcus Williams has 18 tackles. This is Utah’s big chance to become a front-runner in the Pac-12.
Oregon is 8-0 against the spread in their last eight Pac-12 games, 23-8 against the spread following a win, and 21-8 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Utah is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight road games, 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games, and 9-3 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The bulk of this game is going to be played on the ground but we should still see points so even it the big number it is a lean to the over. My stronger play is on the winning team against the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on he App.
