Bobby Dodd Stadium and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the North Carolina Tar Heels Saturday.
After dropping the season opener to rival South Carolina the North Carolina Tar Heels have won three straight in convincing fashion capped off by a 41-14 rout of FCS Delaware. This was just a 13-7 game at the half before UNC lit it up on the way to 568 yards while the Blue Hens were stifled on 303 yards. The Tar Heels did much of their damage in the air with Mitch Trubisky completing 17-20 for 312 yards and four touchdowns. Mack Hollins led UNC with three catches for 100 yards and a pair of scores while Ryan Switzer and Quinshad Davis caught five passes apiece for a combined for 172 yards. North Carolina ran when they wanted too with Elijah Hood leading theway with 61 yards on 14 totes while Trubisky and Marquise Williams combining for 70 yards on 12 touches.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets didn’t look like they were a team many wanted to face in fashioning a 2-0 record but the option has struggled for points in consecutive defeats capped off by a 34-20 loss at Duke as a touchdown favorite. The Blue Devils took a 19-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they made the most of their 279 yards and 100 kick return while Georgia Tech’s 173 rushing yards and three yard average was uncharacteristic. Patrick Skov was the only Jackets runner of note with 75 yards on 19 carries while quarterback Justin Thomas managed just 58 yards on 24 touches and was 6-21 for 143 yards with a touchdown and interception. Ricky Jeune was the top Georgia Tech receiver with 91 yards on four catches and a TD.
The under is 5-0 in Tar Heels last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and is 4-0 in Tar Heels last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game while the under is 4-0 in Tar Heels last 4 road games. The Yellow Jackets are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games and the over is 4-0 in Yellow Jackets last 4 home games while Georgia Tech are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games. The Tar Heels are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while North Carolina are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Georgia Tech. I see DD in points and I believe this line could eventually drop and is worth a shot here…
