The Duke Blue Devils will travel to Michie Stadium to take on the Army Black Knights.
The Duke Blue Devils improved to 4-1 with a 9-7 win over Boston College. Quarterback Thomas Sirk completed 16 of his 36 passes for 195 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Duke struggled running the ball only accumulating 33 rushing yards. Leading Duke was Shaquille Powell who carried the ball 14 times for 18 yards. Wide Receiver T.J. Rahming led the Blue Devils with 5 catches for 75 yards. Max McCaffrey and Braxton Deaver also added a combined 6 catches for 55 yards. The MVP of the Duke Blue Devils however was kicker Ross Martin who recorded all of Dukes points. Martin was 3/3 in field goals with the longest being a 53 yarder.

Army lost their 4th game this year last week against Penn State 20-14. Army’s quarterback A.J. Schurr only attempted 1 pass and it was completed for 32 yards. Army runs an option offense running the ball on pretty much every play. Schurr also added 24 rushes for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back John Trainor led the team with 8 carries for 69 yards. Matt Giachinta and Drue Harris also added a combine 14 carries for 89 yards. Army was able to move the ball against Penn State, however they turned the ball over 3 times on fumbles. Army will prepare for another tough task against Duke this week.
The Duke Blue Devils are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Duke is 9-0 against the spread in their last 9 games on field turf. Army is 5-0 against the spread in their last 5 games following a loss. The Black Knights are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games.
The Duke Blue Devils will need to slow down the Army run game if they want to win this game. Army runs a option offense that can eat up a lot of time on the clock. I think that Army will be able to move the ball enough to cover the spread. Duke will win this game, but take Army and the points at home.
