The Line: Temple Owls -14.5 -- Over/Under: 49 See the Latest Odds

The Tulane Green Wave will travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the undefeated Temple Owls in College Football action this Saturday afternoon.

The Tulane Green Wave improved to 2-2 (1-0 America - West) on the season after defeating the UCF Knights 45-31 this past Saturday. The game wasn’t as close as the score might suggest as Tulane had a commanding 38-10 lead after the 3rd quarter. Tulane was able to outgain the Knights by a 395-357 margin and forced UCF into committing 5 turnovers in the game. Tulane was led by QB Tanner Lee who finished the game completing 15 of 26 passes for 4 TD’s. On the season, QB Tanner Lee is completing 55.2% of his passes and has thrown for 878 yards, 7 TD’s and 2 INT. Tulane has used various RB’s this season and have been led by Dontrell Hilliard (29 carries, 170 yards, 2 TD) and Lazedrick Thompson (33 carries, 133 yards, 1 TD). Leading the way for the WR’s have been Teddy Veal (17 receptions, 245 yards, 2 TD) and Devon Breaux (11 receptions, 240 yards, 3 TD’s). Tulane has struggled a bit defensively as they are allowing their opponents to average 35.0 ppg. The defense is led by DL Royce LaFrance (12 tackles, 3 sacks) and LB Nico Marley (31 tackles).

Temple vs. Tulane - 10/10/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Temple Owls remained a perfect 4-0 (1-0 American – East) on the season after they defeated the Charlotte 49ers 37-3 this past Friday night. The Owls used a big third quarter highlighted by a block punt that they returned for a TD to go up 30-3 and put this game out of reach. Offensively, Temple is averaging 30.8 ppg and lead by RB Jahad Thomas that has 503 yards and 6 TD’s on the ground to go along with 10 receptions for 132 yards. QB P.J. Walker has been solid so far on the young season as he is completing 60.4% of his passes for 731 yards, 5 TD, and 2 Int. Leading the way for the WR’s have been Robby Anderson (15 receptions, 147 yards, 3 TD’s) and Ventell Bryant (10 receptions, 105 yards). The Owls defense has been as good as expected as Temple is currently holding their opponents to 15.5 ppg. The Owls currently have a turnover margin of plus-3 and are by DB Nate L. Smith (16 tackles, 4 sacks) and LB Tyler Matakevich (37 tackles, 3 sacks).

The Green Wave are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record however, just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Owls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.

Tulane got a big win against UCF this past Saturday but this is a still a team that has struggled against stronger competition this season as they were outscored by Duke and GT by a combined score of 102-17. Temple returned all 11 starters for an already strong defensive unit and have used their defensive to score quality wins over Penn State and Cincinnati this season. Tulane’s major questions still come on the offensive end as they averaged just 16 ppg last season and I think that the Temple defensive will shut down the Waves offense and that P.J. Tucker and Jahad Thomas does enough on the offense end to cover this spread at home. Take Temple to cover.
