The Central Michigan Chippewas continued to put points up on the board in conference play and improved to 3-4 (2-1 MAC West) on the season after defeating the Buffalo Bulls, 51-14, this past Saturday. Central Michigan jumped all over Buffalo early in this one taking a 37-7 half-time lead and outgained the Bulls by a 463-241 margin. Ball State vs. Central Michigan - 10/24/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Ball State Cardinals couldn’t find enough offensive this past Saturday and feel to 2-5 (1-2 MAC West) on the season after being defeated by Georgia State Panthers, 31-19. Ball State fell down 24-10 by half time, and was outgained by the Panthers by a 445-372 margin. Leading the way for the Cardinals was QB Riley Neal who completed 28 of 48 passes for 218 yards, 2 TD, and an INT. On the season, Ball State is averaging 26.9 ppg on 413.7 yards (239.7 passing, 174.0 rushing). Leading the way offensively for the Cardinals has been a strong rushing attack led by Darian Green (92 carries, 521 yards, 4 TD) and James Gilbert (80 carries, 339 yards, 6 TD). Freshman QB Riley Neal continues to gain experience after taking over starting duties from Jack Milas earlier this season and has currently completed 59.5% of his passes for 1335 yards, 10 TD’s and 2 INT. Jordan Williams has been the biggest threat at WR this season as he currently has 46 receptions for 623 yards and 5 TD’s. Defensively, Ball State has struggled as they are currently allowing their opponents to average 35.3 ppg on 491.4 yards per game (295.4 passing, 196 rushing). The Cardinals currently have a plus 5 turnover margin as they’ve committed just 7 turnovers on the season. Leading the way for the Ball State defense has been LB Sean Wiggins (58 tackles, 2 Sacks, 2 INT).

The Chippewas are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 12-2 ATS in their last 14 road games. The Cardinals are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a double-digit loss at home however, are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Central Michigan has been very competitive this year as all four or their losses has come against quality teams (Oklahoma State, @ Syracuse, @ Michigan State, @ Western Michigan).  Ball State is also a better than there record suggests and has a decent rushing attack that can help them control the time of possession and take pressure off their young QB. Central Michigan has put of 92 points on the board in their last two MAC games and as they have a great QB in Cooper Rush, I think the Chippewas will expose a weak Ball State defensive and pull away in the 2nd half of this one to cover the spread. Take Central Michigan to cover in this one.
