The Bulls was able to jump all over the Bobcats early in this one and took a 31-10 lead by halftime. Buffalo was outgained by Ohio by a 422-373 margin however, forced the Bobcats into committing 4 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for Buffalo was RB Jordan Johnson who had 147 yards and 2 TD’s on 28 carries. On the season, Buffalo is averaging 28.0 ppg on 375.3 yards per game (230.3 passing, 145.0 rushing). USA TODAY Sports

The Miami (OH) Redhawks dropped to 1-7 (0-4 MAC East) on the season after being defeated by the Western Michigan Broncos 35-13 this past Saturday. Miami (OH) jumped out to an early 10-7 lead on the road, but was outscored by Western Michigan by a 28-3 margin over the final three quarters. The Redhawks were outgained by the Broncos by a 421-276 margin and committed 2 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for Miami (OH) was WR Sam Martin who had 6 receptions for 134 yards. On the season, Miami (OH) is averaging just 14.4 ppg on 323.3 yards per game (206.5 passing, 116.8 rushing). Offensively, leading the way for the Redhawks has been RB Alonzo Smith who had 278 yards and 3 TD on 67 carries. Miami (OH) has had trouble finding a leader at the QB position this season and has been recently starting freshman Billy Bahl who on the season is completing 42.6% of his passes for 700 yards, 2 TD, and 10 INT. WR Sam Martin (22 receptions, 413 yards, 1 TD) and TE Ryan Smith (13 receptions, 167 yards, 3 TD) have been the biggest threats when it comes to the pass catchers of the Redhawks. Defensively, Miami (OH) is currently allowing 36.5 pgg on 445.8 yards per game (256.0 passing, 189.8 rushing). Miami (OH) has committed 23 turnovers on the season and has a turnover margin of minus 12. Leading the way for the Redhawks defense has been LB Kent Kern (66 tackles, 2.0 sacks) and LB Paul Moses (54 tackles, 3.0 sacks).

The Bulls are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The Redhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in October however, are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win.

Buffalo was able to put together a dominating performance at home even without RB Anthone Taylor who dressed but didn’t play due to an ankle injury. Miami (OH) was able to get a big play from WR Sam Martin early in the game, but once again the offense looked flat for the majority of the game as the Redhawks couldn’t get anything going on the ground. Buffalo hasn’t looked like the game team on the road this season, but I think their defense will give the weak Miami (OH) offensive enough trouble to cover this single-digit spread. I’m taking Buffalo to cover in this one.
