Minnesota vs. Michigan - 10/31/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Minnesota Golden Gophers look for their third win over a ranked team since the 2013 season. Mitch Leidner is completing 59.2 percent of his passes for 1,310 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions. Leidner has thrown four picks in his last three games. KJ Maye and Drew Wolitarsky have combined for 647 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Eric Carter has 21 receptions. The Minnesota Golden Gophers ground game is averaging 156.7 yards per contest, and Rodney Smith leads the way with 467 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Minnesota is allowing 23.1 points and 328.7 yards per game. Antonio Johnson leads the Golden Gophers with 48 tackles, Jalen Myrick has three interceptions and Steven Richardson has 3.5 sacks. Damarius Travis, Josh Champion and Isaiah Gentry are questionable.

The Wolverines are 12-26-1 ATS in their last 39 road games and 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Golden Gophers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a bye week and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Wolverines are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Minnesota and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings overall.

Usually I would take the points and a Jerry Kill coached team that’s coming off a bye. However, Michigan is simply by far the better team here and will hold the Golden Gophers under 17 points with no problem. Also, the Wolverines are going to be an angry football team after sitting on the Michigan State loss for an extra week.

I’ll take the Wolverines by a pair of touchdowns even though I respect Minnesota’s coaching staff and what it’s capable of.
