The Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Memorial Stadium to battle the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Even though the Ohio State Buckeyes haven’t always dominated the competition they have been winning and that was what we saw in a 28-14 win versus visiting Minnesota to improve to 9-0. The Buckeyes had the edge in yardage 376-314 and had a 16 yard pick six to open the scoring. OSU was balanced but not explosive with quarterback Cardale Jones going 12-22 and a touchdown with Jalin Marshall catching two balls for 56 yards while Braxton Miller hauled in a 45 yarder. Ezekiel Elliott paced the Buckeyes on the ground with 114 yards on 26 totes and a score while Jones added 65 yards and a score.

The Illinois Fighting Illini have struggled to get both sides on the ball on the same page but they did in a 48-14 rout of Purdue on the road to snap a three game slide and improve to 5-4. The Illini did what they pleased in racking up almost 600 yards while the Boilermakers were held to 263 yards and committed a pair of turnovers. Quarterback Wes Lunt completed 19-33 for 169 yards and three touchdowns with Desmond Cain logging six receptions for 74 yards and a score. Illinois dominated the ground behind Ke’Shawn Vaughn running for 180 yards and a pair of TD’s on 16 touches while Josh Ferguson logged 133 yards on 12 carries.
The Buckeyes are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in November and the under is 5-0 in Buckeyes last 5 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game while going 5-0 in Buckeyes last 5 vs. a team with a winning record. The under is 7-0 in Fighting Illini last 7 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and is 6-0 in Fighting Illini last 6 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going 4-0 in Fighting Illini last 4 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. The home team is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the Buckeyes are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings. I think the Buckeyes can win big with the quarterback spot settled…
