The Navy Midshipmen look to stay on a roll when the Southern Methodist Mustangs come to town.
In my view the Southern Methodist Mustangs are an improved team although their 1-7 record says the opposite. The defense has been an issue and we saw that in a 60-40 loss to visiting Temple in week ten. The Owls won the yardage battle 536-397 and forced a pair of turnovers. Quarterback Matt Davis completed 17-29 for 167 yards with a touchdown and a pick six in the final minute. Jeremiah Gaines caught two passes for 50 yards and Braeden West snagged a 45 yarder but the air attack was generally a short attack. Davis was better with his legs then arm with 102 yards and a TD on 17 totes while Xavier Jones added 67 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
