The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 7-3 this season but they are coming off of a one-sided home loss to Alabama. The Mississippi State offense is averaging 31.8 points and 438.4 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 12 times. MSU QB Dak Prescott has completed 64.7 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and two interceptions and he has rushed for 432 yards and seven touchdowns. Brandon Holloway has rushed for 254 yards and Fred Ross has 59 receptions and De’Runnya Wilson has 40 receptions and eight touchdowns. Richie Brown has 79 tackles to lead the Bulldogs, Beniquez Brown has 70 tackles, and Kivon Coman has 61 tackles. Mississippi State’s offense appears to get too one dimensional at times and it shows most against the better teams.
Arkansas is 5-0 against the spread in their last five SEC games, 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games. Mississippi State is 5-2 against the spread following a loss, 13-5 against the spread in their last 18 SEC games, and 1-6 against the spread following a double-digit home loss. The favorite has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
I see plenty of hard hitting but plenty of scoring so my free pick is over 57.5.
