The Eastern Michigan Eagles go on the road to derail the postseason hopes of the Central Michigan Chippewas in week 13.

Fans of Eastern Michigan football haven’t enjoyed a great deal of success from their team in a very long time and this year hasn’t changed a thing. The Eagles head in to the final game of the year riding a nine game slide where both sides of the ball have generally struggled. The Eagles went into their by week on a 28-17 defeat to visiting Massachusetts where the Minutemen held a 439-315 yardage edge. The Eagles were productive through the air behind Brogan Roback’s 260 passing yards and two touchdowns on a 26-42 effort. Dustin Creel caught ten passes for 97 yards and a score  with Eastern Michigan receiving 55 yards on the ground from Darius Jackson on ten touches.

USA TODAY Sports

A win in the last game of the regular season would give the Central Michigan Chippewas a 7-5 record and a likely Bowl invitation. The defensive minded Chippewas have saved their season with wins in four of five following a 27-14 victory at Kent State in week 12 action. The Chips moved the ball well enough with 442 yards and maintained possession for 38+ minutes but they left their mark defensively with 278 yards given up while recovering a pair of fumbles. Jahray Hayes was the Chips top runner with 44 yards and two TD’s but the offense made their living in the air. Quarterback Cooper Rush gave Central Michigan 337 passing yards and a touchdown with Jesse Kroll logging seven catches for 139 yards while Corey Willis had five receptions for 131 yards.

The over is 5-0 in Eagles last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and  is 6-0 in Eagles last 6 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game while the Eagles are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss. The Chippewas are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and  are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall while going  4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The Eagles are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the favorite is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings while the road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. I think the Chips guarantees themselves a Bowl with a win…
