USA TODAY Sports

The Toledo Rockets stayed alive in the race for the MAC West regular season title as they improved to 9-1 (6-1 MAC West) on the season after a convincing 44-28 victory on the road against the Bowling Green Falcons. Toledo outgained Bowling Green by a 406-368 margin and forced the Falcons into committing 5 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for Toledo was RB Kareem Hunt who had 153 yards and 2 TD on 29 carries. On the season, Toledo is averaging 35.8 ppg on 461.5 yards per game (247.1 passing, 214.4 rushing). Leading the way for Rockets has been their rushing attack who consists of Kareem Hunt (107.86 yds/game, 9 TD), Terry Swanson (89.00 yds/game, 6 TD), and Damion Jones-Moore (50.13 yds/game, 5 TD). QB Phillip Ely is averaging 240.0 yds/game and has 19 TD and 10 INT. Cody Thompson (61.0 yds/game, 4 TD), Alonzo Russell (55.6 yds/game, 5 TD), and Corey Jones (47.7 yds/game, 4 TD) have lead the way for the Toledo WR’s. Defensively, Toledo is holding their opponents to an average of 19.7 ppg on 374.7 yards per game (262.4 passing, 112.3 rushing). Toledo has a plus 7 turnover margin and has been led defensively by DL Orion Jones who has 42 tackles and 6.0 sacks.

The Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Fridays game and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games. The Rockets are 11-1-2 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 conference games.

Western Michigan has some great players at the skilled positions but wasn't able to pull out wins in their big matchups against Bowling Green and Northern Illinois. Toledo had an impressive game against Bowling Green and was outstanding defensively holding the Falcons, who were averaging almost 600 yards of offense per game, to just 368 yards.. Toledo has the best RB in the MAC in Kareem Hunt who seems finally healthy after battling injuries all season and although Western Michigan should be able to get some points through the air on the Rockets, I think Toledo keeps the Western Michigan offense in check and covers this spread.
