The Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in in college football’s Iron Bowl.
The Auburn Tigers are 6-5 this season but for them records don’t matter for this one as a win over Alabama would make the season a success. The Auburn offense is averaging 28.5 points and 377 yards per game with 13 turnovers. Jeremy Johnson and Sean White have both seen plenty of action for the Tigers this season and both should see plenty here as well as there just isn’t a clear cut starter. Peyton Barber is Auburn’s top rusher with 947 yards and 13 touchdowns and Ricardo Louis has 44 catches and three touchdowns. The Auburn defense is allowing 27.2 points and 417.9 yards per game with 13 interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and 17 sacks. Johnathan Ford leads the Tigers defense with 104 tackles, Kris Frost has 85 tackles, and Casanova McKinzy has 66 tackles including five sacks. Auburn has been a disappointment this season but that all could be erased with a win here.

Bama QB Jake Coker has completed 65.4 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions and he has rushed for two touchdowns. Reggie Ragland leads the Tide defense with 85 tackles, Eddie Jackson has five interceptions, and Jonathan Allen has 9.0 sacks. Alabama has looked like a focused team since their week 3 loss to Ole Miss.
Auburn is 5-17 against the spread in their last 22 games, 2-9 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, and 1-6 against the spread following a win. Alabama is 5-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games. The home team has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
This is a monster point spread for a rivalry game with a road favorite so I have to take the points with Auburn.
