The Line: East Carolina Pirates +3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Cincinnati Bearcats will travel to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium to take on the East Carolina Pirates this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.

The Cincinnati Bearcats fell to 6-5 (3-4 American East) on the season after being defeated by the South Florida Bulls 65-27 this past Friday. Cincinnati had little answers for South Florida as they fell behind 27-0 in the first quarter and committed six turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Bearcats was WR Chris Moore who had 131 yards and a TD on 6 receptions. On the season, Cincinnati is averaging 37.6 ppg on 571.5 yards per game (382.5 passing, 189.0 rushing). Leading the way for the Bearcats this season have been QB’s Gunner Kiel (278.6 yds/game, 18 TD, 10 INT) and Hayden Moore (210.4 yds/game, 9 TD, 8 INT). The Bearcats have some talent at the WR position and have been led by Shaq Washington (6.6 rec/game, 77.0 yds/game, 5 TD) and Chris Moore (3.7 rec/game, 80.2 yds/game, 7 TD). The Cincinnati rushing attack is generally split between Tion Green (61.00 yds/game, 8 TD), Mike Boone (73.44 yds/game, 7 TD), and Hosey Williams (59.82 yds/game, 4 TD). Defensively, Cincinnati is allowing their opponents to average 31.5 ppg on 417.4 yds/game (215.4 passing, 202.0 rushing). The Bearcats have been hurt by turnovers throughout the season as they’ve committed 29 turnovers and have a turnover margin of -15.

East Carolina vs. Cincinnati - 11/28/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The East Carolina Pirates were able to snap their three game losing streak and improved to 5-6 (3-4 American East) on the season after defeating the winless Central Florida Knights, 44-7, this past Thursday. East Carolina was able to outgain Central Florida by a 622-232 margin and forced the Knights to commit three turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Pirates was QB Blake Kemp who completed 35 of 51 passes for 465 yards and 4 TD. Leading the way for the Pirates on the season has been WR Isaiah Jones who has 5 TD’s and is averaging 7.8 catches and 88.6 yards per game. The Pirates have two QB’s that they will deploy in Blake Kemp (234.3 yds/game, 15 TD, 10 INT) and duel-threat James Summers (75.7 passing yds/game, 4 TD, 2 INT; 49.44 rushing yds/game, 8 TD). Leading the rushing attack for the Pirates has been Chris Harrison who has 8 TD’s and is averaging 67.09 yds/ game. Outside of Isaiah Jones, TE Bryce Williams (49.9 yds/game, 3 TD) and Trevon Brown (52.0 yds/game. 4 TD) are the Pirates biggest receiving threats. Defensively, East Carolina is allowing their opponents to average 26.6 ppg on 398.5 yards per game (222.5 passing, 176.1 rushing). The Pirates currently have a turnover margin of -4 on the season.

The Bearcats are 6-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games in November. The Pirates are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in November and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Cincinnati had lofty expectations coming into this season but have disappointed largely due to their inability to protect the football. East Carolina has had an up and down season but has lost their last two home games against Temple and South Florida. I think Cincinnati is the better team in this one and as long as they limited their turnovers, I think they’ll be able to go on the road and defeat East Carolina. Take Cincinnati to cover this small spread.
