The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels face of on Saturday for college football’s Egg Bowl.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 8-3 this season and are coming off of a thrilling win at Arkansas. USA TODAY Sports

The Ole Miss Rebels are 8-3 this season and despite hitting a few bumps along he way they have had a solid season. The Mississippi offense is averaging 40.5 points and 518 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 22 times. Rebels QB Chad Kelly has completed 64.8 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and he has rushed for nine touchdowns. Jaylen Walton leads Ole Miss in rushing with 597 yards and five touchdowns and Laquon Treadwell has 72 receptions and eight touchdowns. The Mississippi defense is allowing 22.5 points and 386.2 yards per game with 14 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 19 sacks. DeMarquis Gates leads Ole Miss with 62 tackles, Trae Elston has 59 tackles, and Mike Hilton has 55 tackles. Ole Miss has the big win over Alabama earlier this season and can still make the SEC title game.

Mississippi State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games, and 5-2 against the spread following a win. Ole Miss is 2-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games, and 0-5 against the spread following a win. The home team has covered the point spread in the last four Egg Bowls.

The total is set at 64 but I expect this one to stay under that with some serious hitting on both sides of the football.
