The Line: Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns -1.5 -- Over/Under: 57 See the Latest Odds

The Troy Trojans will travel to Cajun Field to take on the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns this Saturday evening in College Football action.

The Troy Trojans dropped to 3-8 (2-5 Sun Belt) on the season after being defeated by the Georgia State Panthers, 31-21, this past Friday. Troy found themselves down 31-14 entering the 4th quarter in the loss and was outgained by Georgia State by a 519-374 margin. Leading the way for the Trojans was QB Brandon Silvers who completed 20 of 45 passes for 284 yards, 2 TD, and an INT. On the season, Troy is averaging 26.7 ppg on 351.9 total yards per game (233.6 passing, 118.3 rushing). Leading the Trojan offense this season has been QB Brandon Silvers who has thrown for 16 TD and 7 INT while averaging 205.8 yds/game. Teddy Ruben (7 TD, 68.0 yds/game) has been the main WR threat for Silvers this season. The Trojan rushing attack is led by Brandon Burks who has 7 TD’s on the year and is averaging 80.64 rushing yds/game. Defensively, Troy is allowing their opponents to average 29.3 ppg on 398.6 total yards per game (199.4 passing, 199.3 rushing). Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Troy - 12/5/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns lost their 3rd consecutive game and dropped to 4-7 (3-4 Sun Belt) on the season after being defeated by the Appalachian State Mountaineers, 28-7, this past Saturday. Louisiana Lafayette couldn’t get anything going on offense as they were outgained by Appalachian State by a 402-246 margin and scored their only TD with just 57 seconds remaining in the game. Leading the way for the Ragin’ Cajuns was WR Jamal Robinson who had 66 yards on 7 receptions. On the season, Louisiana Lafayette is averaging 27.3 ppg on 386.8 yards per game (208.6 passing, 178.2 rushing). The Ragin’ Cajuns are led offensively by a strong rushing attack which consists of Elijah McGuire (12 TD, 88.36 yds/game) and Torrey Pierce (4 TD, 35.27 yds/game). QB Brooks Haack is completing 61.4% of his passes and has 5 TD & 6 INT on the season while averaging 156.3 passing yds/game. Louisiana Lafayette will also deploy QB Jalen Nixon (7 TD, 5 INT, 82.8 passing yds/game; 5 TD 40.60 rushing yds/game) who is more of a duel-threat QB. Jamal Robinson (5 TD, 73.4 yds/game) and Al Riles (4 TD, 45.9 yds/game) are the two main targets at the WR position for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Defensively, Louisiana Lafayette is allowing 31.0 ppg on 418.4 total yards per game (229.5 passing, 188.8 rushing). The Ragin’ Cajuns have forced just 11 turnovers on the season and have a turnover margin of -5.

The Trojans are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in December however, just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

This is probably not going to be one of the more watched games on Saturday as both the Troy and Louisiana Lafayette have struggled this season. Troy has a better situation at the QB position in Brandon Silvers, however, their defense has really struggled against the run giving up almost 200 rushing yards per game. Louisiana Lafayette has the best running back on the field in Elijah McGuire and I think they’ll use Jalen Nixon a bit more than normal in this one due to the weak Trojan defense. This game should be close but I’m going to lean on the Ragin’ Cajuns at home in this one. Take Louisiana Lafayette.
