The Marian Knights look to win their second NAIA title and first since the 2012 season. Hayden Northern is completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 3,380 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Northern has been sacked just 13 times this season. Krishawn Hogan and J. Walker Jr. have combined for 2,212 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns while Trey White has 24 receptions. The Marian Knights ground game is averaging 205.5 yards per contest, and Robert Gibson leads the way with 1,053 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively, Marian is allowing 14.4 points and 264.7 yards per game. Ryan Hartnett leads the Knights with 114 tackles, Dwayne Beckford has 11 sacks and Jeremy Shupperd has three interceptions.
Marian is the better team on both sides of the ball, especially defensively where the Knights don't give up anything easy. However, Southern Oregon has the experience of winning this title last season and has a playmaker at quarterback who is more than capable of taking over a game.
I'll gladly take the two free touchdowns here in the championship game.
