The Indiana Hoosiers and the Duke Blue Devils face off on Saturday in Yankee Stadium in college football’s Pinstripe Bowl.

The Indiana Hoosiers went 6-6 this season and they won their last two games to become bowl eligible. Indiana appeared to be in trouble losing six games in a row including close losses to Iowa, Ohio State, and Michigan but they rallied in the end to get their six wins. The Indiana offense is averaging 36.2 points and 490.8 yards per game and they turned the ball over just 11 times. IU QB Nate Sudfeld has completed 60.7 percent of his passes with 24 touchdowns and five interceptions and he also rushed for five touchdowns. Jordan Howard leads the Hoosiers in rushing with 1,213 yards and nine touchdowns but he is questionable for this game and Simmie Cobbs Jr. is the top receiver with 54 catches and four touchdowns. The Indiana defense is allowing 37.1 points and 507.2 yards per game with nine interceptions, 10 fumble recoveries, and 29 sacks. Marcus Oliver leads the Hoosiers in tackles with 102, T.J. Simmons has 69 tackles, and Nick Magieri has 9.0 sacks. Indiana’s low point was a loss to Rutgers but they had plenty of chances to knock off a big team and were unable to do it.

USA TODAY Sports

The Duke Blue Devils were 7-5 this season but they played poorly in the second half of the season. Duke lost a tough one to Miami on a controversial play and spiraled downward afterwards losing four in a row before edging Wake Forest to close out the regular season. The Duke offense is averaging 30.5 points and 431.3 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 18 times. Blue Devils QB Thomas Sirk has completed 60 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions and he rushed for a team high 648 yards and six touchdowns. Shaquille Powell has rushed for 534 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Duke running backs and Max McCaffrey led in receptions with 48 with five touchdowns. The Duke defense is allowing 24.1 points and 372 yards per game with nine interceptions, eight fumble recoveries, and 17 sacks. Dwayne Norman leads the Blue Devils with 104 tackles, Jeremy Cash has 101 tackles, and DeVon Edwards has 93 tackles. Duke played a fairly light schedule with their wins coming against weak teams.

Indiana is 5-1 against the spread in their last six non-conference games, 5-0 against the spread following a win, and 6-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Duke is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 15-5-1 against the spread in their last 21 non-conference games, and 16-7 against the spread following a win.

It should be unusually warm weather in New York for this one so expect the offenses to make plays and for this one to go over the total.
