The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles look for their first bowl victory since the 2011 season. Nick Mullens is completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 4,145 yards, 36 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Mullens has six passing touchdowns in his last three games. Mike Thomas and Casey Martin have combined for 2,056 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns while D.J. Thompson has 52 receptions. The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles ground game is averaging 191.9 yards per contest, and Jalen Richard leads the way with 1,098 yards and 14 touchdowns. Defensively, Southern Miss is allowing 24.2 points and 364.1 yards per game. D'Nerius Antoine leads the Golden Eagles with 93 tackles, Kalan Reed has four interceptions and Dylan Bradley has 6.5 sacks.
While Southern Miss can put points on the board, it has yet to face a defense as talented and athletic as Washington. The Huskies are easily the better team in this matchup on both sides of the ball and shouldn't have a problem scoring or getting stops.
I like Washington to win this game by double digits.
