The UConn Huskies and the Marshall Thundering Herd face off on Saturday morning as college football bowl season resumes with the St. Petersburg Bowl.

UConn vs. Marshall - 12/26/15 St. Petersburg Bowl College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Marshall Thundering Herd finished the season at 9-3 but they lost two of their last three games. Marshall is averaging 32.6 points and 401.3 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 23 times.  Thundering Herd QB Chase Litton has completed 59.3 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Devon Johnson is Marshall’s top running back with 555 yards and five touchdowns but he is questionable for this one and Davonte Allen leads in receptions wit 56 and five touchdowns and Ryan Yurachek leads in receiving touchdowns with eight. The Marshall defense is allowing 18.4 points and 372.2 yards per game with 14 interceptions, 13 fumble recoveries, and 28 sacks. Evan McKelvey leads the Thundering Herd with 113 tackles, Tiquan Lang has 88 tackles, and Gary Thompson has 8.0 sacks. If Marshall can avoid turning the ball over they should have the upper hand.

UConn is 4-0 against the spread against Conference USA, 7-17 against the spread in their last 24 games, and 5-15-1 against the spread in their last 21 non-conference games. Marshall is 4-0 against the spread in their last four bowl games, 12-4 against the spread in their last 16 non-conference games, and 5-2 against the spread following a loss.

I really don’t like this game and it looks like the defenses keep this one low scoring but with that being said I think it is close enough that we will be glad to have the points so I will take UConn but it is a lean at best.
