The Line: Team National PK -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Team American and National will play Saturday afternoon in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the Stubhub Center.
Team American will led by former respectable NFL coach Mike Holmgren, who won 58 percent of his games. As for quarterbacks, Team American will be led by (Liberty) Josh Woodrum, (Utah) Travis Wilson and (Northwestern State) Stephen Rivers. The top offensive playmakers for the American include wide receiver Devin Fuller of UCLA, Washington tight end Joshua Perkins and wide receiver Mekale McKay out of Cincinnati. Defensively, Team American will feature Florida State linebacker Reggie Northrup, Iowa State defensive end Dalyou Pierson and Arizona defensive back Will Parks. The American team has yet to win the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl since it debuted in 2012.

Team National will be led by respected coach Mike Martz, who is known for his bright offensive mind. Quarterback wise, Team National will play (Southern Utah) Ammon Olsen, (Bowling Green) Matt Johnson and (TCU) Trevone Boykin. The offensive playmakers for the National team will be Bowling Green running back Travis Greene, Pittsburgh tight end J.P. Holtz and Cal wide receiver Bryce Treggs. Defensively, the National team will have some big names including Miami defensive end Ufomba Kamalu, Michigan linebacker James Ross and Boise State cornerback Donte Deayon. The National Team has shutout the American team in two of the last three years.
Again, it’s very tough to cap games that are more about the players showcasing their skills to scouts rather than actually playing to get the victory. With that said, Team National has more firepower at the quarterback and wide receiver position. Johnson and Boykin were some of the top quarterbacks in the country all season, and they’ll be throwing to Triggs and Ricardo Louis, while Greene is coming out of the backfield.
This looks like the year Team National can get its first victory in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
