The LSU Tigers may have snagged their quarterback of the future with the commitment of 4-star Lowell Narcisse. The 2017 prospect, who originally committed to the Auburn Tigers, also had offers from Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia, among others.
Narcisse may be the quarterback LSU has been missing under head coach Les Miles for the longest time.

At 6’2”, 224 pounds, Narcisse has the size you like in a college quarterback and the arm strength to push the ball down field. Narcisse is capable of really zipping the ball in there and can stretch the field with an arm that can sling it easily 50-plus yards without much effort. Narcisse has the raw tools to really be special for the Tigers.
But the one thing that really makes Narcisse special is his athleticism. More of an athlete than a true quarterback at this point in his career, Narcisse is crafty in the open field and has the speed to outrun the defense for touchdowns. Narcisse has experience in the read-option and is the type of quarterback who you call design runs for whenever possible. His running ability is simply special and makes him a game changer for an LSU program that has had issues finding a reliable quarterback in the past.
Since 2008, the LSU Tigers have finished sixth or worse in passing yards in the SEC. Miles and his staff have often been criticized for not landing polished quarterbacks or developing guys. While Jordan Jefferson, Zach Mettenberger and Anthony Jennings have had their moments, LSU has never really had a difference maker at the position that really puts the program over the top offensively. There are even still questions with Brandon Harris after he completed just 53.6 percent of his passes last season and finished the last five games with at least one interception.
Again, Narcisse isn’t the most polished passer in the world, but his playmaking ability and athleticism give LSU hope at the quarterback position. He has a chance to be different than a lot of the guys before him.
LSU has been trying to find an answer at quarterback, as Lindsey Scott and Myles Brennan will also have their shot to takeover the position.
When it’s all said and done, Narcisse has the look of the playmaker LSU has been waiting to land for quite some time. Don’t be surprised when the Tigers become a more balanced offensive team and compete for an SEC title once Narcisse takes over at quarterback.
