The Baylor Bears begin a new era under coach Jim Grobe and hope they can remain competitive despite off-the-field issues. Seth Russell returns at quarterback after throwing for 2,100 yards and 29 touchdowns. KD Cannon and Chris Platt return at wide receiver after combining for more than 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns while Ishmael Zamora had nine receptions. The Baylor Bears ground game averaged 326 yards per contest last season and Shock Linwood returns after racking up 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively, Baylor allowed 28.3 points and 396 yards per game. Travon Blanchard returns after 84 tackles, Taylor Young had four sacks and Ryan Reid had three interceptions.
We all know what Baylor is capable of doing offensively and it's one of those teams that shows no mercy. The Bears love running up the score. That's bad news for a club that got waxed in pretty much every game it played last season, including a 62-13 loss to Mississippi State.
Oh, this game is sure to get ugly.
