The Michigan State Spartans look for another great season after winning double-digit games the last three years. Tyler O'Connor takes over at quarterback after throwing for 133 yards and two touchdowns. R.J. Shelton and Josiah Price return at wide receiver after combining for more than 700 yards and 10 touchdowns while Jamal Lyles had eight receptions. The Michigan State Spartans ground game averaged 151 yards per contest last season and LJ Scott returns after racking up 699 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, Michigan State allowed 21.7 points and 349 yards per game. Riley Bullough returns after 106 tackles, Demetrius Cooper had five sacks and Montae Nicholson had three interceptions.
Michigan State isn't really the type of team to blow clubs out, as it focuses on running the ball and playing defense. MSU didn't have a lot of blowouts last year and that was with an experienced quarterback. Meanwhile, Furman beat UCF on the road last season and held Virginia Tech to just 14 first half points. Furman can hang around for a bit.
The Paladins and the points seems like a decent play.
