The Eastern Michigan Eagles shoot for a 2-0 start when they travel to the Missouri Tigers in week two.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles have not enjoyed much success for years but they did plenty of celebrating in a 61-14 rout of visiting FCS Mississippi Valley State in the opener for both squads. The Eagles did whatever they wanted in racking up 479 yards while limiting the Delta Devils to 201 yards and a pair of lost fumbles. Eagles quarterback Todd Porter was an efficient 15-22 for 171 yards with three touchdowns and a pick as he spread the ball around to seven receivers with Nigel Kilby leading the way with four catches for 67 yards and a score. The Eagles dominated the ground behind Shaq Vann’s 20 carry, 156 yard day with two TD’s while Ian Eriksen added 97 yards and two trips to the endzone.

The Missouri Tigers will be looking for more offense in week two after falling 26-11 in their opener at West Virginia as a ten point underdog. Statistically the Mountaineers held a slight 496-462 yardage advantage but lost the turnover battle 3-1 although the scoreboard was heavily in their favor. The bottom line was the Tigers inability to establish anything on the ground with Alex Ross totaling 67 yards on 18 carries as the team averaged less then 3 ½ yards per carry. Missouri did have success in the air with quarterback Drew Lock going 23-51 for 280 yards and a score with J’Mon Moore and Chris Black snagging 14 balls for a combined 208 yards with Black catching an 18 yard TD and Moore a two point conversion.
The Eagles are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points and are 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while the over is 4-0 in Eagles last 4 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. The Tigers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in September and the under is 5-0 in Tigers last 5 non-conference games while going 7-1 in Tigers last 8 games following a ATS loss. A lot of points here which makes this a tossup in my view…
