The Northern Illinois invade Raymond James Stadium to take the field with the South Florida Bulls.
The Northern Illinois Huskies had a tall task in week one with a road trip to the altitude of Wyoming combined with weather problems and the result was a 40-34, double overtime defeat. The Cowboys outgained NIU 488-462 and held the ball for 40 minutes behind a balanced attack. Huskies quarterback Drew Hare was fantastic as he connected on 24-39 for 329 yards and three touchdowns with Kenny Golliday hauling in ten throws for 144 yards with touchdowns of 17 yards and 39 yards. Golliday paced Northern Illinois on the ground with 82 yards on six carries and another score but the Hare and Golliday show just wasn’t enough.

The South Florida Bulls opened 2016 with a 56-20 rout of FCS Towson as a four touchdown favorite. The Bulls owned a 444-292 edge in yardage with the ability to both run and throw as they pleased. USF quarterback Quinton Flowers connected on 8-18 for 178 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception before Brett Kean came on in relief to go 5-7 for 52 yards and another two TD’s. Marquez Valdes-Scantling led the receiving corps with three catches for 79 yards with a score. The Bulls were led on the ground by Marlon Mack and Flowers with a combined 105 yards on 17 carries with three touchdowns between them but 20 different players saw the field as USF could have done more damage on the scoreboard.
The Huskies are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the Huskies are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The over is 4-0 in Bulls last 4 home games and is 3-0-1 in Bulls last 4 non-conference games while the under is 3-0-1 in Bulls last 4 vs. MAC. I have read that Hare is dinged up and I believe he has to be 100% and USF will be looking to run, run and run some more…
