The Texas State Bobcats had the week off last week after opening their season with a win over Ohio. The Texas State offense put up 56 points and gained 546 yards and turned the ball over three times. Bobcats QB Tyler Jones was busy completing 72.7 percent of his passes for 418 yards and four touchdowns. The Texas State running attack was led by Stedman Mayberry who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown and Eric Luna is the top receiver with 10 catches and a touchdown and Elijah King has seven catches and two touchdowns. The Texas State defense allowed 54 points and 630 yards and they recovered two fumbles. Bryan London had 12 tackles to lead Texas State, Javante O’Roy had 11 tackles, and Gabe Loyd had 10 tackles. Texas State scored a lot of points but gave up plenty as well.
Arkansas is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games, 15-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 11-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. Texas State is 3-7 against the spread following a win, 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games.
I expect to see plenty of scoring as both teams give up yards in bunches so I see Texas State scoring enough to cover the spread with the generous points they are getting.
