Over at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, we’ve got a huge ACC game on tap as the Cardinals will welcome the Florida State Seminoles in Week 3 college football action on Saturday, September 17.
The Seminoles come in sporting a 2-0 record after a blowout 52-8 win against Charleston Southern. QB Deondre Francois put up 262 yards with three touchdowns in that one, and Florida State RB Dalvin Cook held down the fort rushing for 83 yards and a pair of scores himself. The big receiving target in Week 2 was the Seminoles’ Travis Rudolph, who pulled down seven catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns. On the year, Francois holds 681 yards passing with five touchdowns to only one pick. Cook has rushed a total of 34 times for the Seminoles, resulting in 174 yards and two scores. Rudolph’s 13 catches are a team-high (tied with Jesus Wilson), and he’s sporting 179 yards with three touchdowns.

As for the Cardinals, they’ve got a 2-0 record after a stunning Week 2 blowout win over Syracuse 62-28. Lamar Jackson led the way in that victory, rushing for four touchdowns and throwing another score on an evening that featured tons of huge gains. Jackson would finish with a 20-for-39 line and 411 yards. Louisville’s Brandon Radcliff also had a big game with 10 rushes for 156 yards and a TD on the ground. Jamari Staples led the pack on five receptions for 136 yards for the Cardinals in Week 2. On the year, Jackson holds 697 yards with seven throwing touchdowns and also leads the team in rushing with 318 yards and six touchdowns. Staples has a team-high nine receptions with 219 yards for Louisville, but hasn’t found the end zone yet.
The Seminoles are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall, and 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games. Florida State is also 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games versus a team with a winning home record.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-0 ATS in their last four September games, and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Louisville is also 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, and 2-5 ATS in their last seven conference games.
Louisville comes into this game with a healthy buzz, and they’ve been very impressive in their first two games. I like the Cardinals to cover here, and even win outright.
