The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers look to get back in the win column at the Miami (OH) Redhawks in week three.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are usually the team delivering a beat down but not against a loaded Alabama squad that rolled to a 38-10 victory in week two. The boxscore told the story with the Crimson Tide owning a 489-239 yardage and forcing a pair of interceptions. The Hilltoppers desperately needed a viable rushing attack but Anthony Wales 44 yards on eleven carries wasn’t ‘viable’ versus the Bama front seven. WKU quarterback was ineffective as well and left the game with some type of problem but not before he connected on 10-24 for 135 yards and a 55 yard pick six. Taywan Taylor was the Western Kentucky star with nine receptions for 121 yards but Alabama was generally just too good in every area.

The Miami (OH) Redhawks generally do not generate much talk but they were expected to handle visiting Eastern Illinois as a ten point favorite and did before the Panthers went on a 14-0 4th quarter to pull a 21-17 upset. The Redhawks held a healthy 402-316 yardage edge and had the ball for 35+ minutes but hurt themselves on the ground with a 3 ½ yard average with Alonzo Smith the only runner of note with 97 yards on 27 carries. Quarterback Billy Bahl gave Miami (OH) a decent effort in the air as he connected on 13-22 for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns along with an interception while 51 of those yards came on a TD strike to Rokeem Williams.
The Hilltoppers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on fieldturf while the over is 6-0 in Hilltoppers last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Redhawks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss while the over is 4-1 in Redhawks last 5 games in September. I think we have to go with potential here…
