TV: ABC

The Stanford Cardinal and UCLA Bruins square off in a crucial Pac-12 showdown Saturday night at the Rose Bowl on ABC.

The Stanford Cardinal hope to prove they’re for real when they take the road for the first time this season. Ryan Burns is completing 68.8 percent of his passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Burns has two career touchdown passes on 33 pass attempts. Christian McCaffrey and Michael Rector have combined for 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Greg Taboada has two receptions. The Stanford Cardinal ground game is averaging 203.5 yards per contest, and McCaffrey leads the way with 298 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Stanford is allowing 11.5 points and 344 yards per game. Zach Hoffpauir leads the Cardinal with 11 tackles, Peter Kalambayi has 2.5 sacks and Dallas Lloyd has one interception.

USA TODAY Sports

The UCLA Bruins look to build on their two-game winning streak and beat their fifth ranked team since last season. Josh Rosen is completing 60.5 percent of his passes for 917 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. Rosen has at least one touchdown pass in six straight games. Darren Andrews and Kenneth Walker III have combined for 307 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Eldridge Massington has nine receptions. The UCLA Bruins ground game is averaging 131.3 yards per contest, and Soso Jamabo leads the way with 181 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, UCLA is allowing 22 points and 347.7 yards per game. Jayon Brown leads the Bruins with 23 tackles, Kenny Young has two sacks and Randall Goforth has two interceptions.

The Cardinal are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 51-24-1 ATS in their last 76 games overall. The Bruins are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Cardinal are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings in UCLA and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings overall.

I'm not sold on this Stanford team like everybody else, as the offense relies way too much on McCaffrey and Burns hasn't proven himself at quarterback, especially on the road. Jim Mora does a great job of getting his team pumped up for games like this and Rosen did throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns last year against this Stanford defense on the road. This Bruins squad has great talent at the skill positions that could give Stanford some trouble.

I think UCLA wins this game outright. I'll take my free field goal and sprinkle something on the moneyline as well.
