Bobby Dowd Stadium and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Miami Hurricanes Saturday.
The Miami Hurricanes look for a perfect 4-0 start to the season when they visit Georgia Tech in week five. The Hurricanes manhandled a pretty good Appalachian State squad in week three heading in to their bye. The Canes were only 4.5 point favorites but this was never close with a massive 549-241 yardage edge. Miami dominated the air behind quarterback Brad Kaaya who hit 21-27 for 368 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. Ahmmon Richards led the Hurricanes receivers with four catches for 142 yards while Stacy Coley caught eight yard and 55 yard TD’s. The Canes didn’t run much but were effective with Mark Walton rambling for 130 yards and two scores on 16 touches.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will run most opponents in to the ground but Clemson isn’t ‘most’ opponents and their defense rose to the occasion in a 26-7 win in week four. The Yellow Jackets fell behind 23-0 after 30 minutes which is not a good thing for a team that doesn’t pass and wants to control the clock. The Jackets were outgained 442-124 and their rushing attack was held to around 100 yards with Dedrick Mills the only runner of significance with 75 yards on 16 carries and a two yard touchdown. Yellow Jackets quarterback Justin Thomas struggled throwing the ball with 29 yards on 4-13 with Brad Stewart hauling in a 26 yarder but Georgia Tech has to run to succeed.
The Hurricanes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on grass while going 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The under is 3-0-1 in Yellow Jackets last 4 games overall and the Yellow Jackets are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 4-0-1 in Yellow Jackets last 5 home games. The Hurricanes are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings while the favorite is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings. I like this Miami squad and I think they do some damage with an extra week to prepare…
