The Oklahoma Sooners look for a win at the Texas Christian Horned Frogs in week five.
The Oklahoma Sooners are probably still licking their wounds after the 45-24 smack down Ohio State gave them. The Buckeyes held a 443-404 edge in yards and forced a pair of turnovers as OU once again came up small in a big game. OSU was efficient in all they did but the Sooners rushing attack was the only thing that looked good at times but they couldn’t run often given the score. Joe Mixon gave Oklahoma 78 yards on nine totes with Samaje Perine adding 60 yards on 17 carries for 60 yards and a mere 3.5 yard average. Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield was so, so with 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns along with two interceptions on 17-32 with AD Miller and Mark Andrews catching scoring strikes.

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs proved SMU still has a long way to go after throttling the Mustangs 33-3. Southern Methodist was down 6-3 at the half and then their defense disappeared as the Horned Frogs rolled up a 589-320 yardage edge. TCU wasn’t much on the ground with Kyle Hicks leading the way with 89 yards on 14 touches but the passing attack was nasty. Horned Frogs quarterback Kenny Hill completed 31-45 for 452 yards and a pair of touchdowns and an interception. John Diarse paced Texas Christian in receiving with 139 yards and a TD on six catches followed by Taj Williams with five receptions for 94 yards.
The Sooners are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on grass and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 9-1 in Sooners last 10 games following a straight up loss. The over is 4-0 in Horned Frogs last 4 games on grass and is 4-0 in Horned Frogs last 4 home games while the under is 4-0 in Horned Frogs last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings. The Sooners are a joke in big games but I don’t think TCU will be laughing here…
