The Boise State Broncos have revenge on their mind when the Utah State Aggies visit.
The Utah State Aggies have a different feel in my view and I’m not sure if it’s the offense, defense or both. A 27-20 loss to visiting Air Force was a solid defensive effort with the Falcons totaling 326 yards and averaging four yards per carry. On the flip side, the Aggies mustered 414 yards but were hurt by a pair of giveaways. It didn’t help that a 26 yard run by Justen Hervey was the USU rushing attack and enabled Air Force to concentrate on stopping the pass. Utah State quarterback Kent Myers still was solid in completing 29-47 for 360 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Ron’Quavion Tarver was the receiver of choice with nine catches for 143 yards.

After watching the Boise State Broncos suffer through some inexplicable performances in 2015, I have to admit I am a bit wary of this team. The Broncos improved to 3-0 with a 38-24 victory at Oregon State that saw the defense score on a fumble and then watch the Beavers score on a 99 yard kick return. Boise was still the better team with a 512-287 edge in yards as OSU really didn’t move the ball. Jeremy McNichols was the Broncos offensive star as he ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns while catching a TD as well. Boise State quarterback Brett Rypien wasn’t accurate, going 19-36 for 215 yards and a score with Thomas Sperback hauling in six balls for 104 yards.
The over is 6-0 in Utah State’s last 6 games in October and Utah State are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games versus a team with a winning home record while Utah State are 0-6 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. Boise State are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and the under is 7-1 in Boise State’s last 8 home games while Boise State are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf.
Like I said, school is still out for me on the Broncos but after turning the ball over eight times to the Aggies last year and getting crushed I’m thinking Boise State will be focused…
