The Temple Owls look to contain the explosive Memphis Tigers on the road Saturday.
After a slow start to the season, the Temple Owls have cranked up the intensity on both sides of the ball in winning back to back games and improving to 3-2. The Owls had zero problem in downing SMU 45-20 as they took a 35-14 lead in to the half and never looked back with a 368-288 yardage edge and a 4-3 advantage in turnovers. The Owls had an uneven day under center with PJ Walker going 7-18 for 124 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions including a pick six. The ground game belonged to Temple with Ryquell Armstead totaling 159 yards on 15 carries with a pair of trips to the endzone with Jahad Thomas adding 80 yards while Ventell Bryant caught two passes for 43 yards and a score.

The Memphis Tigers were dominant in building a 3-0 record before their defense struggled in a 48-28 defeat at Ole Miss where a 24-7 deficit at the half did them in. The Rebels amassed 624 yards while the Tigers totaled 474 yards and gave the ball away four times which gave Ole Miss too many opportunities. Memphis needed a bigger game from their rushing attack to keep the Rebels offense off the field but Doroland Dorceus with his 72 yards and a touchdown were not enough. Tigers quarterback Riley Ferguson completed 30-46 for 343 yards but three interceptions and a pick six so mistakes ruined what could have been a winning effort.
Temple are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and the under is 5-0 in Temple’s last 5 vs. a team with a winning record while Temple are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games on fieldturf. Memphis are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game and the under is 5-1 in Memphis last 6 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game while Memphis are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
The bottom line for me here is Memphis was capable of scoring with Ole Miss and I think Temple gets their share so perhaps the over...
