The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are 3-2 on the year with both defeats coming to SEC foes so an easy 50-3 victory versus FCS Houston Baptist was just what the doctor ordered. This was one of those never in doubt type games where the Hilltoppers dominated yardage 535-224 yet only had the ball under 22 minutes with quick strikes. WKY quarterback Mike White had a field day, going 11-13 for 225 yards and three touchdowns with Taywan Taylor grabbing seven balls for 146 yards and a score to lead the receiving crew while Nicholas Norris had two receptions for TD’s and an 85 yard run for another score. Anthony Wales topped the Western Kentucky rushing attack with 87 yards and a touchdown on seven touches while Quinton Baker added 69 yards on ten totes.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs might be the best 2-3 squad in the nation but they really can’t afford too many losses so early. The Bulldogs defeated visiting Texas El Paso 28-7 as a 23 point favorite in week five. La Tech was outgained 415-387 but won the turnover battle 2-0. Ryan Higgins gave the Bulldogs a quality effort in the air with 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 19-29. Trent Taylor was the Bulldogs receiver of choice with ten receptions for 121 yards and a nine yards score. The Bulldogs rushing attack was in good hands with Jarred Craft totaling 146 yards including a 70 yard scoring burst while snagging a 17 yard scoring strike.
Western Kentucky are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference games and Western Kentucky are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while Western Kentucky are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The over is 4-0 in Louisiana Tech’s last 4 games following a ATS loss and is 12-1 in Louisiana Tech’s last 13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while Louisiana Tech are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
I think Western Kentucky has plenty of skill players to find the endzone often and Louisiana Tech can be a handful offensively as well so I’ll go over…
